Chapter 2019: Chapter 2020: The Invisible Magical Creature

The moment the leather shoe appeared, an immense oppressive force immediately spread out. Under this pressure, even Sanders felt his body become somewhat stagnant, and when he looked down at Angel, his actions had utterly ceased.

Sanders knew Angel was trying to open the door earlier, but now the door hadn’t opened and his actions stopped, obviously due to the oppressive force, leaving him no choice.

Watching the mysterious figure at the corner reveal more of itself, Sanders furrowed his brow.

If he continued to wait for Angel to open the door, it would definitely be too late!

Sanders didn’t know who owned these shoes, but he was well aware that this was not a battlefield Angel could be involved in.

Perhaps, the opposing party might spare Angel because of Shava. But leaving one’s survival in the hands of an unknown entity is definitely not a good idea.

Now, Angel must be taken away immediately.

Thinking of this, Sanders didn’t wait for Angel to continue opening the “door”, he directly reached over and pulled Angel by the shoulder.

Amid a strong Nightmare Illusion Breath, Sanders and Angel’s figures instantly disappeared. Left behind was a nightmare engulfed in intense black flames, roaring towards the sky.

Seeing Sanders and Angel disappear, Rhein’s heart slightly relaxed with relief, and his gaze turned to the narrow path behind the door.

Then, aided by the light of the candle fire on both sides of the relic door, the being in leather shoes revealed itself.

When he saw the figure’s face, Rhein’s pupils slightly shrank.

This is… what situation?

Under the wall candle’s light, one can clearly see that opposite stands a figure dressed in an old gray-blue suit, simple leather shoes, a round-topped felt hat, and holding a cane emitting a ghostly green flame.

If you didn’t look at the face, this would be an approximately one and a half meter tall little gentleman.

But if you looked at the face, it was very bizarre. Because… the face was entirely absent!

One’s gaze could directly pass through the gap between the little felt hat and the collar to see the old, heavy wall behind, bathed in the glow of the candle. Its face did not exist at all.

Not only the face, but even the exposed hands, neck, or hair were invisible. As if transparent, only the clothes supported, revealing no skin or body structure.

An invisible monster!

In Rhein’s long life, he had encountered and heard of many forms of life invisible to the naked eye, but, even among invisible life forms, none would intentionally display their invisibility by wearing full garments outside.

Because invisibility itself is their talent, it cannot be intentionally exposed unless they have no fear.

Combined with that terrifying oppressive force, Rhein felt a hint of threat for the first time in several decades.

“Hmm, I smell a familiar scent…is it His Majesty’s breath?” The unknown being’s voice suddenly expressed genuine delight, but was quickly followed by a clicking sound of disdain: “And the unpleasant smell of a Watcher. I really dislike Watchers…”

“Oh dear, this Watcher is truly bold, daring to take away His Majesty. Not allowing me to gaze upon the noble figure of His Majesty, how hateful!”

Listening to the being’s incessant muttering, Rhein was utterly baffled, completely unaware of what it was saying. But inferring from its meaning, was it talking about Sanders taking Angel away? But what do His Majesty and the Watcher refer to?

However, Rhein couldn’t question it at this moment, as the opposing entity had already walked out of the relic doorway.

Without hesitation, Rhein lightly pointed, erecting an unseen Wall of Silence between himself and the invisible creature.

The Wall of Silence wasn’t a mighty Spell Technique, but Rhein’s action signified the beginning of a battle…

Elsewhere, in the dense darkness, Angel and Sanders materialized.

Angel’s head was still somewhat befuddled, as he indeed had been affected by the oppressive force, preventing him from promptly releasing The Gate of Void. However, that oppressive force hadn’t been too significant to him, merely a bit suppressive. Instead, it was Sanders’ sudden pull from behind, combined with the spatial transformation, catching him unprepared and causing him to be dazed.

Only after a good while did he regain his senses.

“Mentor, was that just the Nightmare Substitute?” Angel recalled the last scene he saw earlier, a nightmare engulfed in black flames standing in his place before the door, which instantly reminded him of Sanders’ famous creation.

“Exactly.” Sanders replied while glancing back, surveying the surrounding environment.

Angel: “Are we still in the passageway?”

Sanders nodded. After entering the dark side passage, Sanders had left a nightmare here as a precaution. When he used the Nightmare Substitute, the nightmare here was swapped to the relic door, and they were transported here.

“There’s a possibility that Magical Creatures might still appear here, we must leave quickly.” Sanders urged, considering the restricted teleportation range of the Nightmare Substitute, he wished he could have left the nightmare at the entrance of the passage.

As Sanders spoke, a rumbling noise emanated from the distant end of the darkness. From the sound source, it seemed to be coming from near the relic door.

No doubt, Rhein had already engaged in a battle with the shoe-wearing creature.

“Lord Rhein will be alright over there?” Angel asked with some concern.

“Rest assured, Lord Rhein will be fine. Even if he truly gets trapped in the relic, with his capabilities, he can escape… After all, the trump cards on Rhein are not just one.”

Trump cards? Curiosity arose in Angel’s eyes.

Before Angel could inquire further, Sanders said directly, “We’re still in the dark side, danger can arise at any moment, we’ll discuss once we’re out. Can you open the door now?”

Angel nodded and focused his mind, directly erecting an ancient door within the darkness.

Beyond the door, a shimmering ripple could be seen.

The ripple represented the entrance to the Otherworldly Time-Space at the end of the passage, and crossing through it would lead to the Star Pond outside.

Sanders didn’t say anything further and immediately led Angel through The Gate of Void. Although the creatures in this dark side were not powerful, there was an eerie feeling about it; best to leave first.

After emerging from The Gate of Void, they stood within a lit passageway.

Here, the sense of threat was somewhat lessened, and Sanders glanced back towards the intersection of light and dark. Though the situation inside the dark side was unseen, waves of oppressive energy continually spread out, unable to be blocked by the stagnant space of the dark side, a testament to how terrifying the battle was there.

“Hopefully, everything will go smoothly.” Sanders murmured softly, turning to Angel, “Let’s go.”

Sanders and Angel simultaneously headed toward the ripple.

But just then, an unexpected occurrence took place.

As Angel was about to pass through the ripple, he felt as if he hit something, and before he could react, a tremendous force suddenly struck from the front.
