Every broadcasting and communication medium around the world carried the same message: wake up, break free from your dream.

[Except for infants, children, and the elderly, please stay awake if possible.]

[We recommend you stay awake for at least three hours, or ideally over five hours!]

[A global effort anyone can do—just stave off drowsiness for a moment to save the world!]

If you stay awake for only three hours without sleeping, you too become a hero who saved the world! It was easier than lucid dreaming, and people began lining up to participate.

“Kindergartners can sleep.”

“I’m going to elementary school now. I’m all grown up. I don’t need to sleep.”

“Open your eyes!”

“I’m awake! I said I’m awake! Hey, what’s with the bucket of water?”

– I felt like the only one left out for not being able to lucid dream, but staying awake isn’t easy.

└ Same here lol I just couldn’t do it

└ I have insomnia anyway ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

– Energy drink discount event now on!

– So who even is Park Ha-yul?

– The eldest of the three Han brothers? They say the big brother has shown up

└ I think the eldest awakened too—he wiped out a dragon’s breath with a fingertip

└ What the heck, a family with two S-ranks?

└ Make that three—they’re practically on par with S-ranks if they’re SF

– Why does Director Dodam get kidnapped even in dreams?

– Guild Master Sesung greeted me!!!111 ⊛ Nоvеlιght ⊛ (Read the full story) I protected the S-ranks111

– Haha, there’s fireworks in real life too!

Urgent broadcasts explaining and reenacting the dream-world incidents were scheduled everywhere. Events sprang up like mushrooms. Some still wondered what was happening and tried to sleep, but hearing that only a few authorized people could enter where Han Yujin and his group were made most give up.

Now in reality, people shared their personal experiences as a boisterous festival broke out. Everyone woke from dreams and began mingling in the joyful tide.

“What’s going on?”

Park Ha-yul kept tilting his head. This world had been formed from our world’s dreams—people’s dreams. Mari had drawn dreams into the Sleeping Sea of the Mermaid Queen, making them real, and Park Ha-yul inherited that power.

In other words, the source of Park Ha-yul’s power was dreams. If the number of dreamers decreased, his power would wane too.

‘Transcendent-seed power aside…’

Most of a Transcendent’s energy would have been consumed drawing dreams into creating this world. The seed hadn’t fully sprouted yet.

It would be impossible for every person on earth to stay awake. Some wouldn’t know or care. Yet I believed a majority would help.

“Ugh… but it’s fine!”

Park Ha-yul grumbled, then snapped his head up.

“No one but my brother can attack me anyway. I’ll just unleash the monsters! Those I’ve already created won’t vanish. They’re strong.”

He said confidently. Indeed, they looked formidable—some S-rank monsters mixed in. If they attacked, the wall would crumble in an instant.

“Meanwhile, your hunters are weakened, right?”

“That’s right. Their mana’s unstable.”

“So, I’ll give you one more chance.”

Park Ha-yul reached a hand toward me.

“Come to me. Let’s make a new contract. As long as you don’t run, I won’t hurt you. That’s all you have to do, right? I never meant to hurt you.”

He babbled as if that were acceptable nonsense.

“Park Ha-yul.”

“Yes, brother.”

“I’ll go wherever I want to be, no matter where that is.”

“But I’ll treat you well, really!”

“No matter who offers, it’s the same. Even Guild Master Sesung offered to be your guardian.”

And got turned down. Even the Chaos Child offered once, and I refused.

“Whether S-rank, Transcendent, or god above them—I’ll live my life my way.”

“…You’re stubborn.”

Park Ha-yul pouted. He still didn’t seem to understand me. Even if he did, so what? He cared only about himself and wanted his own way.

“Then there’s no choice. I’ll just destroy everything and drag you off.”

Grrr—low growls rose from the monsters. I looked at the shattered ground and the child-moon in the sky. How many of them were there?

‘I wish Noah were here.’

Noah would be perfect in a battle like this. Riet wouldn’t say otherwise. His name still sat on my remembrance list. It shouldn’t be wrong, so where had he gone? Hwangrim vanished without word too.

Swallowing my regret, I glanced at the Puppeteer beside me. He nodded slightly, and the surrounding mana began to ripple. His power spread rapidly. The ancient Transcendent used himself as a filter to stabilize the twisted mana.

Then—

[Dad, I can use all my inventory and items!]

Gyeol’s voice crackled in my inner ear. The moment I heard him, I drew the Wildcat Rifle from my inventory. Blessing restored my strength, mana from the fountain poured into the gun, and I squeezed the trigger at Park Ha-yul.

Bang! The round whizzed past Park Ha-yul’s hair.

“Ugh! Brother!”

“Keep that pretty hair clean.”

“Well, I am pretty and handsome!”

Chattering to himself, Park Ha-yul guided the chimera backward. He sensed the change in atmosphere. But I couldn’t let him escape after coming here on his own.

“Ancestor, just block his teleport! Gyeol, open the gate!”

[Got it! And Dad!]

“Hello, everyone!”

A cheerful voice rang out—it was Emily Spencer. She flew down from a hunter on her flier and landed atop the wall. Familiar faces began appearing inside the castle.

[We’ve arrived!]

Mari’s reinforcements had come. Emily peered excitedly at the monsters.

“We only get one attack, right? I’ll just support. No news of Noah yet?”

“No. He’s safe, but—”

“I’ll have to do my best then. No cooldowns in a dream.”

Emily cast a wide-area heal. I used Teacher’s Skill as, ker-thunk, the gate swung open. Two motorcycles shot out beyond the wall—Seong Hyunjae and Moon Hyunah. They split paths and charged straight at the monsters.

“…There are still so many!”

Dodging behind the horde, Park Ha-yul glared at me. True, they outnumbered us. Clink—the clear sound of chains. A massive armored bull blocked the small motorcycle’s path, surrounded by swarming monsters. Just as it seemed we’d be surrounded—

Crack!

A golden chain sliced diagonally through the sky, piercing the bull’s head. Taut, it carried Seong Hyunjae’s bike aloft. The wheels spun up speed, balanced perfectly, soaring atop the bull’s skull.

– Roooar!

The bull reared. Monsters pressed in. Perched at the highest point, Seong Hyunjae tossed his bike skyward and then—

KRAK!

Lightning struck. Current burst along the chain embedded in the earth. A storm of dazzling light swallowed everything nearby, charing the bull’s head jet black. Seong Hyunjae caught his falling bike, mounted it, then guided the downed bull’s body as he slid down.

“As expected, awakened state is best!”

Moon Hyunah, fully restored to S-rank stats, brandished her spear. Wind gathered around her bike and spear tip, carving a path none could block. Her bike surged forward. In an instant, she reached the monster horde and thrust her spear as she laughed.

Storm-like mana—

– Kya-rukk!

It tore through everything in its path. KRA-KRA-KRA! A monster collided head-on and was literally blown to bits. The whipping wind flung Hyunah free of any blood. All caught in her path were swept away.

Cree-kik—the bike screeched to a halt, leaving a clear road behind it. Nothing remained. Hyunah clicked her tongue and dismounted her half-crumpled bike.

“This is why you need speed counts. Next one!”

Vroom—she swung her great spear and the monsters flinched. But their numbers were vast, on ground and in sky.

“Director!”

The Corps Office hunters leapt onto the wall. Director Song stayed inside, instead standing before me and the Puppeteer. I had my rifle, but if Park Ha-yul summoned a flyer and snatched me, I couldn’t resist. The Puppeteer, exhausted from stabilizing mana, needed protection too.

“Air C.”

Song Taewon said, naming a formation. The Corps hunters formed a battle line around me and the Puppeteer. As if on cue, the flyers began swarming. Song Taewon’s gaze went upward—he had no flight skill, but…

“Let’s go!”

A hunter of the Corps tossed a chained blade upward. Simultaneously, Song Taewon leapt, stepping on the blade to boost his jump. He brandished his spear mid-air and swung it long—swish! The head of a flying monster flew off. The floating corpse spun back toward the hunters.

– Keek!

– Kyaruk!

Before Song Taewon fell again, a wire shot out. Light as air, he ran along it. Whirr, a dagger thrown from below pierced a monster’s skull and flew back to him. As another monster approached, Song Taewon stabbed it with the dagger, then kicked it back beneath him. It skewered the wyvern’s neck.

“Keep this up.”

He glanced at the ground creatures beyond the wall and judged the land secure. Corps hunters supported his feet and supplied weapons. As he picked off flyers one by one—

“Dragon Knight of fame appears!”

– Grrr!

I heard the familiar call—Kang Soyeong and Comet. A black wyvern burst from the castle.

“Manager Han!”

“Soyeong-ssi! You brought Comet?”

“Yes! Mari-noona helped me dream him! He talks in his sleep too!”

Even monsters dream. Peace sometimes twitches or growls in his sleep.

“Don’t let Comet near Park Ha-yul!”

It’d be hard to teach him not to attack more than once, so we kept Peace atop the wall.

“I have arrived!”

Finally able to use the interpreter item, Cicio shouted in his formal speech. It was welcome. Behind him came Evelyn and hunters from each guild. In this dream world, healers and support were visible too.

With this force, handling the monsters posed no issue. But Park Ha-yul remained—a formidable foe even weakened. And he looked ready to flee now that odds turned against him. I couldn’t allow that.

“Yuhyun, Yerim.”

It’s your turn. They nodded and readied themselves. Yuhyun lightly lept onto a willow-leaf platform and Yerim flew up.

“Soyeong-ssi, Evelyn-ssi, clear the path!”

Kang Soyeong and Comet drew the flyers away from the monsters. Evelyn’s arrows, supported by other heal-support hunters’ skills, cleaved through the swarm like laser beams. In that gap, Yuhyun and Yerim closed in on Park Ha-yul.

“Brother! Now I can attack too!”

Park Ha-yul’s shout sounded. The chimera he rode lifted all three heads menacingly. Rumble! Water gushed from underground springs connected to the nearby river.

“Well, holding hostages would be easier.”

Unable to strike people first, Park Ha-yul glared at Yuhyun. Yuhyun showed no reaction and drew the Sovereign’s Blade. At the same moment, Yerim unleashed a jet of water behind Park Ha-yul. The water froze solid behind him.

Thwack—Yuhyun’s blade lightly tapped the willow leaf.

“Argh!”

He swung his sword at Park Ha-yul. Park Ha-yul barely dodged as the ice pillar cleaved cleanly behind him. The chimera growled, and the toppled Park Ha-yul cried out:

“If you attack me one more time—”

[No.]

My voice came through Yerim’s communicator.

[Yuhyun, how is it?]

“It’s the same as always.”

Yuhyun checked the back of his hand. Park Ha-yul’s eyes went wide:

“What do you mean?”

[If you hurt my little brother, I’ll let you know in advance: we made a contract that if Yuhyun is attacked intentionally, a black mark appears on his hand. Right, Yuhyun?]

Yuhyun withdrew the contract and showed it to Park Ha-yul. Park Ha-yul glanced between the paper and Yuhyun’s hand.

“But that’s impossible!”

[It is for my brother.]

For others, it’d be difficult. But Yuhyun could—he places no value on any person, creature, or object unrelated to him.

Of course, Park Ha-yul had kidnapped and harmed me, so feeling nothing for him was hard. That’s why I always spoke gently.

‘Yuhyun, I have no feelings for Park Ha-yul. So don’t worry about him—only think of brother.’

‘Okay, brother.’

To focus only on me was easy for Yuhyun. Therefore—

“This is cheating!”

Park Ha-yul screamed. Yerim summoned water, and Yuhyun steadied his blade.
