The chat feed nearly froze from the slowdown. Han Yuhyun’s eyes narrowed ever so slightly. Would comments about other teams—even innocuous greetings—be filtered out? But soon:

“‘OMG;;;;;;;;;’”

“‘Hyh, are you hacked???? This is CG, right???’”

“‘Never seen a colder heart than that lololol’”

Comments poured in again.

“‘Comments killed by Han Yuhyun’s heart.’”

“‘The director finished his run—someone shut him up, he probably removes his salt.’”

“‘Yuhyun, your brother’s already woken up.’”

“‘He’s flying through this, no worries.’”

“‘Hey Yuhyun, Yujin’s fine, but my heart has flown away □□□□□□□□□□□□’”

“‘□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□’”

Some posts were garbled—likely dungeon guide info. In any case, Han Yujin was safe. Though he’d acted dangerously, the audience loved it.

“Thank you.”

Han Yuhyun offered a formal thanks and moved on. He struggled to grasp caring about strangers’ opinions—only those close to him, especially someone he liked, could affect him. He’d felt that under Yujin’s gaze. But words from faceless strangers meant nothing.

“You must survive in society,” Seoksi-myeong once told him. Humans live in groups for safety, so reputation matters. Unlike a lone S-rank hunter, you can’t afford to ignore public opinion entirely. But even Seoksi-myeong hadn’t explained why unknown voices can sway you; he only said that people dislike bad comments and follow praise. Balancing that is not easy for ordinary people.

‘Hyung is still hyung, no matter what he does.’

“‘Hyh’s heart is legendary;;’”

“‘I’d bow north, south, east, and west to that heart—must preserve this forever.’”

“‘Does Hyh only respond to his name lololol??’”

Han Yuhyun glanced at the chat. As long as Yujin watched for him, he was fine. And within him, Yujin held firm, unshaken. He’d worried, but Yujin’s place in his heart would never change.

He wished Hyung could remain unshaken by so many influences: family, the Breeding Center, Hayun Guild, other guilds and associations, the Awakened Management Office—and now these strangers. It was hard, but he was Hyung’s brother.

“‘Hyh, are you close with Yujin? I’m always fighting with my sister.’”

“I love my hyung.”

He spoke to those who professed affection.

“Hyung is the one who made me who I am today.”

When someone asked, “What about your parents?” a commenter answered, “They died when he was young.” Others recalled childhood rumors about Yujin’s mother going off with another couple, or remembered a happy home life—conflicting claims blended together.

“‘So you raised your brother since childhood?’”

“‘I was in Hyh’s class—he came to every event.’”

“My world is built on my hyung.”

Han Yuhyun’s gaze dropped. He had plenty of on-camera experience; early Hayun’s PR team had coached him to use controlled, sympathy-evoking gestures. In the cold winds of the city, subtle facial and lip movements would suffice.

“Even now, I feel anxious …”

He maintained a composed, slightly aloof interview style, but sometimes let a trace of vulnerability slip through.

“‘Yujin is doing fine!!’”

“‘OMG character breakzzㅋ;;’”

“‘Character break my foot □□□□□□!!’”

“‘Anyone offended by Hyh, meet behind the Hunter Association back alley—healthy O blood type welcome.’”

A few complained, but most praise overwhelmed them. On integrated channels and countless personal streams, people had intentionally tuned in. Hunters maintaining a solid image usually enjoyed overwhelmingly positive popularity.

“I can’t live without my hyung. I need him by my side to be happy.”

Han Yuhyun thought of Han Yujin. He imagined Yujin right in front of him, smiling, calling “Yuhyun-ah.” A genuine smile crept across Han Yuhyun’s lips.

“Thank you to everyone who supports me—please also cheer on Hunter Han Yujin.”

Would that help? He tilted his head internally. Should he have seemed more desperate, with tears glistening? Han Yuhyun approached the valley entrance and extended his right arm.

Crack!

“Kek!”

The dagger in his hand impaled the camouflaged snake’s head. Without a glance, he flicked his arm, tossing the giant snake ahead. It burst into flames on impact, leaving a blackened scar on the ground. Amid drifting ash, Han Yuhyun strolled onward as if nothing had happened.

The chat revived instantly.

“‘That gap is insane ddd’”

“‘So many fire-type hunters, but Hyh’s power is the best—no one else can match that.’”

“‘Does anyone know the Hayun Guildmaster’s weapon name? That black, curved sword.’”

“‘Ask him directly—‘Black Sword’ is probably ignored by a hundred people.’”

“‘Isn’t there an auto-filter? If Hyj’s word isn’t present, we can’t see the chat?’”

“‘Pss pss pss!!!’”

Peace, waiting at the entrance, slipped over to Han Yuhyun. In adult form, the Flame Horn Lion reverted to feline size. Han Yuhyun glanced at Peace and spoke.

“Peace, how did it go?”

Viewers who’d watched the stream answered that Peace had helped him dispatch the monsters easily. Then, stepping outside the entrance:

[You are the Chief of Police.]

“Ask if Daddy’s okay, ask!”

The fairy dragon perched on Seong Hyunjae’s shoulder peered at the chat and urged him on. Hangyeol’s voice was still muted.

“‘Seong Hyunjae’s features are more defined than my entire life…’”

“‘Honestly, I’m more curious about Seong Hyunjae’s face than monster-fighting… Guildmaster, show us your face.’”

“Everyone’s eyes are crooked!” Hangyeol snapped at the praise. Seong Hyunjae muted his mic briefly.

“My human form’s face is—”

“‘He can take other forms too! Gyeol’s true form is a dragon!’”

“Han Yujin’s face is—”

“‘Annoying, annoying, annoying.’”

Mumbling, the fairy dragon pushed hard on Seong Hyunjae’s cheek. He meant to squish his face, but had little effect.

“‘Do Seong Hyunjae and the baby dragon not get along?’”

“‘He’s just being adorable, so cute.’”

“‘I love Seong Hyunjae to death (from the Seong Fan Club)!’”

Seong Hyunjae unmuted and gave a gentle smile.

“My Gyeol really adores me.”

“Daddyyyy! I hate this so much!!!”

Hangyeol bit Seong Hyunjae’s finger with all his might. Seong Hyunjae laughed softly.

“It tickles—he only bites gently, as a joke.”

“Eek!”

“‘So cute ♥’”

“‘Gyeol, if the power goes out, I’ll hang your photo—because you’re the light…’”

“‘Everyone’s being fooled!’”

Hangyeol protested, but viewers saw only a happy baby dragon hopping around. As “cute,” “a good match,” and “such a duo” scrolled up, Hangyeol closed the chat window in frustration, flopped his wings and ears.

“I shouldn’t have ignored Daddy… biggest mistake of my life…”

He hadn’t spent much time with Han Yujin either. Separate rooms, always vanishing alone.

“Grrr.”

A low warning growl sounded. Several enormous wolves blocked their path, baring teeth. The chat raced upward, but Seong Hyunjae continued calmly; Hangyeol barely looked.

“‘But Daddy always does dangerous things—Gyeol ages ten years each time.’”

Seong Hyunjae muted his mic again; only the wolves’ growls carried on the stream.

“Han ⊛ Nоvеlιght ⊛ (Read the full story) Yujin never holds back his body. Song Taewon protects himself less, but he’s at least an S-rank.”

“‘Daddy, your body’s fragile!’”

“Growl, grrr.”

“‘If Gyeol were an uncle, I’d lock him up.’”

Seong Hyunjae strode between the wolves. One backed off to the side, intimidated by the small human—unable to land even one bite—then watched warily.

“‘Like they’re on a neighborhood stroll.’”

“‘But weren’t they A-rank?’”

The intelligent wolves hesitated, then shifted aside, giving way. Seong Hyunjae walked on without drawing his hand from his pocket.

“‘If this continues, Daddy won’t live long…’”

Seong Hyunjae, instead of answering Hangyeol’s mutterings, continued speaking.

“He must have little time left.”

“‘No, Daddy!’”

“You knew already. Having a rough estimate, I needn’t hide it.”

Hangyeol’s wings trembled.

“…Now, I don’t know either. I’ve fully separated from Daddy’s life. But he’ll live long! No silly thoughts!”

“Silly thoughts,” Seong Hyunjae mused, lips lifting slightly.

“I have desires—to experience every possibility with Han Yujin—but I’m not one to obsess. I have nothing left to cling to, so I let go. Yet in the end, only the two of us remain. After all those ages, if it were only the two of us, wouldn’t greed be natural?”

He adjusted the shot to keep his face hidden and the wolves behind him in view.

“The me before regression must have been the same.”

Song Taewon had died for him. He’d felt regret, emptiness, sorrow—but also sharp joy. Everything, until the last moment, was in his hands. The dully colorless pre-regression Seong Hyunjae had lost everything; in that moment, some envy must have flickered.

“…Creepy.”

Hangyeol scowled at the bright smile that overlaid Seong Hyunjae’s face.

“Blessings to those I love.”

“‘This is sick. Not normal.’”

“Normal is just a social standard, but I can’t disagree.”

No one could bear endless time and erasures unflinching after a few repeats.

“Gyeol, you should consider your future, too.”

“‘Gyeol, Gyeol, Gyeol, Gyeol!’”

“Completing basic education is a great way to assimilate. An alien who graduates from Korea’s schools is received very differently.”

If his identity were exposed later, the shock would be less. Hangyeol flicked his tail.

“‘I’ll live with Daddy forever—so it doesn’t matter!’”

“But having a social standing benefits Han Yujin too. A human stands an advantage over a baby dragon in some respects.”

“‘That’s… um…’”

The wolves’ growls receded as they gave up and returned. The valley entrance appeared; Seong Hyunjae reset the shot to auto and unmuted his mic. Amid comments praising his bravery, he and Hangyeol exited. Then:

[Valley crossing results]

[You are a slave.]

“Of course.”

“‘What is this! We did nothing, you idiot!’”

Hangyeol yanked on Seong Hyunjae’s ear in mock outrage.

“‘Master of Water! King of Kings, please annihilate them!!!’”

“‘Director Song is so pretty.’”

“‘Director Song, tell us your bank account—we’ll hold our breath until you do.’”

“‘Yerim!!! Yuhyun just hearted your feed!!! Auntie needs to see Yerim’s heart too!!!!’”

“Really? Oh, Han Yuhyun surprised me—hyung’s not here!”

Park Yerim made a heart gesture and looked at Director Song.

“Director Song, make a heart too!”

“…….”

“Our Director’s shy! Now, as promised—wall breaking! Perfect spot, this valley’s ideal. Three-way split? No way. There’s only one path in front of Park Yerim!”

Yerim closed her eyes. Her mana spread at her feet.

“Director Song, over here!”

Director Song drew a staff and struck down. Crack! It drove into the ground, leaving only its tip above the surface. Then—

Shoosh-ah!

Water surged upward, drawn by Yerim’s power. She soared into the air, spinning once.

“Party time!”
