“‘Yujin-ah, in my past life I was a GPS!!!’”

“‘Who screenshotted that?’”

“‘Yujin-ah, I saw on the left path a three-horned lizard with my own eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’”

“‘The right path has black birds! Their eyes are bright red—wouldn’t the middle path be better?’”

“‘Yujin-ah, if you go left you’ll reach my house!!!!!! Live with me!!!!!’”

“Thank you~ but my home can’t be here, this is a dungeon. For the record, my home is in Seocho-dong, Seoul, South Korea~”

Clearly many have watched. I asked for more detailed directions, then pulled out my phone.

“It looks like only the middle path is free of monsters.”

However, that route is rugged and requires travel on foot—tough on my stamina. I took out the phone’s stylus and began sketching.

“Normally I’d edit in reference footage for clarity, Chatterbox—are you watching? No live reference feed? Never mind, moving on.”

A red-eyed crow… hm.

“‘Hyj, you seem talentless over there.’”

“‘And you missed the Breeding Center naming contest…’”

Someone posted a screenshot of the naming contest announcement. Darn, they must have taken it down quickly in Hayun, but they’d already saved it! Well, it’s still legible. Not so bad content.

“‘lololololololololol.’”

“‘Please add English subtitles.’”

So there are foreigners here too. The image text didn’t auto-translate. I drew a red-eyed crow on my phone and showed it. Laugh away.

“Let me mention in advance that this is a phone ad! But it’s not sponsored. I bought and use this phone myself. And yes, hunters choose this phone for a reason: first, it’s sturdy! Second, it’s sturdy! Third, it’s sturdy anyway! Even top hunters earning billions per month find switching phones a hassle. Yuhyun and Yerim use this phone too. When I babysit the kids, phones fly like balls. If it’s fragile, it won’t last a week!”

It was an ad, but true. Syncing data is a pain, and a broken SIM slot is worse.

“At the start of next year, the Hunter Edition 2 will be released—an even more SIM-protected smartphone! The SIM slot is made from dungeon byproducts!”

That should suffice. I cleared my throat and returned to the topic.

“Forest terrain with red-eyed crows—high chance of encountering B-rank monsters called Black Gards. Did their tail tips and claws perhaps appear deep green?”

“‘Yes yes yes yes.’”

“‘I’ve seen them; that’s right.’”

“They travel in packs of at least ten, often over a hundred—very intelligent, keen eyesight, high speed, perfect teamwork! They’re tricky but have poor night vision and weak smell. If you spot them during a Dungeon Break, hide in the shadows—though it’s daytime now.”

Viewers would drift off if I waited till night. No time limit, but I shouldn’t drag it out.

“Left path: three-horned blue lizard.”

I sketched again, shading it. They seemed amused—happy viewers satisfy me.

“A-rank monster called Desert Fundy. Usually solitary, rarely more than two appear together. In sandy desert terrain, they’re a nuisance.”

I tapped the ground with my foot.

“The ground here is very firm—how about deeper in? Yes, got it, thanks! In other words, they can’t ambush from hiding.”

I stowed my phone and pulled out a bicycle.

“No, I didn’t choose this pink bike; it was a gift. A Jeep would be too loud—monsters would sense it from a hundred meters away.”

Engines are easily detected by monsters; bicycles are quiet and not jarringly mechanical.

“Zooming out!”

Though not soaring upwards, max zoom gave a much wider view.

“Alert me if you see the lizard~”

I formed a heart with my hands again—embarrassing for an adult man, but oh well.

I mounted the bike and pedaled. The left route was fairly smooth compared to the middle. Sweat formed on my brow under the blazing sun, but I couldn’t shed the Wildcat Jacket; I’d hold my stealth skill as long as possible, using it only if needed.

“‘Dfmb!’”

“‘Ahead! Ahead!’”

A flurry of comments pointed out the Desert Fundy ahead—thanks, thanks! I stopped, stowed the bike, and prepared my Wildcat Belt’s detachable five-slot holder, packing items into it.

“Though it looks loose, nothing falls out unless you want it to—no matter how many flips you do. Crafted by Myung-woo!”

“‘As expected from the Golden Blacksmith!’”

“‘So awesome, wowww’”

I wholeheartedly agreed. Myung-woo, are you watching? I’m still mostly intact. I then drew my crossbow—a weapon with a pouch in the string to launch rocks instead of arrows—and placed a stone in it. I planted my foot on the valley wall.

“I don’t have a flight skill, but I can do this—thanks to my gear. From now on, shh.”

I went silent and fixed the camera.

I climbed the steep cliff, then traversed diagonally. A massive blue-tinged lizard came into view, its bulk immense even at a distance. Sharp claws scraped the ground, and spines lined its long tail. As my tense face appeared onscreen, the chat slowed in unison.

“‘Wow, why is that lizard so huge… scary.’”

“‘It’s bus-sized.’”

“‘No, more like a coach bus.’”

The beast shifted, pressing close to the shaded cliff, tongue flicking.

“‘We could sneak by quietly—its bulk means it can’t fly.’”

“‘Go go go go!’”

“‘The lizard’s adorable.’”

I edged carefully along the cliff’s edge, hand outstretched—and then I touched an invisible barrier. I wanted to explain, but I couldn’t speak.

“‘Dungeons sometimes have barriers mid-plain, transparent walls blocking the way.’”

“‘Huh?’”

“‘Intermediate.’”

A fellow viewer explained. Of course there are hunters among them. Flight prohibition was for this reason. Sneaking past the lizard would be impossible. I zoomed out again to max, and the chat erupted with info:

“‘Up ahead!’”

“‘There’s another one!’”

Two lizards—good. I switched back to auto-recording mode and waved my hand in the air. Let’s go.

I kept watch on the lizards as I proceeded. Their tail slapped the ground. Though I’d almost reached the top of the cliff, they hadn’t detected me yet—but with A-rank stats, they would soon.

Clang. Their claws scraped the ground and—

“‘I see it11111!’”

“‘Run!!’”

The nearer lizard lifted its head toward me and lunged down the cliff, the other’s body stirring as well.

“Desert Fundy have… long tongues!”

“‘Don’t say it!’”

“‘Yujin-ah!!!!!’”

With a swift flick, a whip-like tongue lashed from between two short tongues. Before I could leap, the cliff face where I had stood was pierced with a snap! Dust and stones rained down.

“It’s incredibly long!”

“‘Got it! Run!’”

“‘No guts!’”

“‘Looks like they dropped its guts.’”

“‘No wonder they don’t mess with S-ranks.’”

The first lizard chased me at high speed. Usually slow beasts, but A-rank speed made them faster than me. The lead lizard reached the cliff, digging its claws in to climb upward. I ran forward, loaded a meat chunk into the crossbow, and fired.

Bang!

“Crack!”

It wasn’t a bomb—it was a flashbomb.

“Desert dwellers like these are weak to bright light!”

“‘Someone shut Hansojang’s mouth!’”

“‘They can’t catch up!’”

While the first lizard paused, I sprinted hard. Soon the second lizard appeared ahead.

“Chuckle!”

Having heard the blast, it was on high alert. Running, I pulled out packaged meat.

“This is monster meat—for the kids.”

I always carried extra rations. I unwrapped the package and loaded fresh meat into the crossbow’s pouch.

“And this is A-rank mana crystal powder!”

I generously coated the meat with crystal powder.

“‘How much «N.o.v.e.l.i.g.h.t» is that worth?’”

“‘At least a thousand for A-rank.’”

“‘Han Sojang, deposit enough for Peace’s month’s feed in my account.’”

“‘More coming!!’”

“‘You can do it, Han Yujin!!!!!’”

“‘Yujin-ah, slaughter them~~~ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ’”

Lastly, I nicked my arm to let a drop of my blood fall on the meat.

Ping!

I fired the crystal-smeared meat at the second lizard. It stuck with a splat.

“Their defense is so high that unless it’s a serious threat, they won’t dodge!”

“‘Behind you too, lizard!!’”

“‘Behind behind!!! Hyj block!!’”

I know—they’re coming. Both massive lizards charged. Dropping flat to the cliff, the second lizard’s tongue sliced through where my head had been—a close call despite anticipating it. Then the first lizard arrived.

“Grrr.”

“‘Huh?’”

“‘What?’”

It attacked the second lizard instead. Its massive jaws snapped, tearing at thick scales. The second lizard countered, clawing at the first’s nape.

“Exactly.”

In a hushed voice, I slipped past their brawl. Chuckle, croak—loud noises behind me shook the ground.

“Fundy have very weak species loyalty. They usually travel alone; if they meet a blood scent, they see it as food and attack each other.”

Satisfied I’d put distance between us, I deactivated my suction skill and leapt down the cliff. Thanks to Flexibility, I landed perfectly and quickly retrieved the bicycle.

“Editing team, if possible show this fight in the small window below—or make me the small window, either works.”

When else will viewers see live monster-on-monster combat? Other S-ranks would have wiped them out. It’s animal footage, so it’ll face fewer violence restrictions than human fights.

“‘Yujini really older than Yuhyun?’”

“Yes, I’m his hyung. Yuhyun just grew big so fast!”

I chatted while pedaling out of the valley. A prompt appeared:

[Valley crossing results]

[You are a thief.]

…Huh? I’m innocent, but my conscience pricked. But if they hadn’t attacked first, they wouldn’t have eaten me! Everything else was self-inflicted! Before I could protest, my body was whisked away.

“Eeek!”

A massive monster’s form burst into black flames. Thud—it collapsed beside which Han Yuhyun strode by indifferently.

“‘Hyh, he really won’t smile unless he’s in front of you…’”

“‘Why are Peace and Yuhyun not team-playing but solo?’”

Han Yuhyun and Peace split at the fork. No need to share a path if no threat. Seoksi-myeong asked them to stick together for the broadcast, but it’d be inefficient now.

“‘Yuhyun hyung is entering the military today, is hyung watching the stream?’”

“‘Yuhyun so looks like Yujin when seen this wayzzz.’”

Would hyung be okay? Yuhyun glanced at chat. Mentions of me appeared too:

“‘If you’re handsome, you’re bro. Yuhyun oppa!!!!’”

“‘Yuhyun, want to go together? Want me to show you where? Send a heart.’”

Yuhyun recalled the briefing materials from Seoksi-myeong. He’d managed his image before—an unfeeling S-rank orphan defending against dungeon threats. A young elite guildmaster. That narrative let him be stoic. Yet now he’d reconciled with hyung, and I had Peace and Yerim. His current image was bright—an S-rank who’d found his smile in his family’s care.

So he should be a bit friendlier, Seoksi-myeong had said. Thinking that, Yuhyun looked into the air and formed a hand-heart just like Yerim.

“Hunter Han Yujin, is hyung doing well?”
