Chapter 619: Heart Devouring Cultivation
As the heart entered the circle of light, the Heart Devouring Bug became enraged. It looked as if it was a starving beast that had just seen a little white lamb. All it wanted was devour it.
All of the Heart Devouring Bugs gave off a white glow, seemingly engulfing the whole of his heart.
“Hmph!”
His nerves started to hurt.
In a matter of seconds, he felt as if there were a countless number of bugs tearing away at his body.
The heart’s golden body was being torn apart, with pieces of golden shards dropping out one by one, like glass, as it started to collapse.
His heart started to collapse. The pain was excruciating.
Sitting cross-legged in the room, Ye Mo’s stormy face was in constant struggle. He was experiencing an indescribable amount of pain eating away at his body.
Only then did Ye Mo realize that Hong Ling’s words were an understatement.
This type of pain had caused him to completely collapse.
The Heart Devouring Bug had no sympathy, just hunger, tearing away, seemingly trying to expend all of its strength to eat away at Ye Mo’s body.
This type of suffering was more frightening than he had imagined.
But the Heart Devouring Bug wasn’t going to let him off just because he was suffering. Instead, it intensified its torture.
Hong Ling, who was standing at one side, looked on anxiously. She hadn’t expected Ye Mo to be so weak.
“What is that?” As Hong Ling was in the midst of her anxiety, she saw something from the corner of her eye. At one side of the residence, she saw a bottle of spirit fluid. Hong Ling waved her hand, bringing the bottle of spirit fluid to her. Opening the bottle and giving it a sniff, she smiled excitedly.
“This residence is basically a haven for people who want to cultivate their Heart Deity – they even prepared the purple spirit fluid.”
Hong Ling let out a chuckle as she walked to one side, emptying the spirit fluid onto Ye Mo’s heart. In an instant, the Heart Devouring Bugs rushed hastily away from Ye Mo’s heart.
“Ye Mo, this purple spirit fluid is the kryptonite of the Sky Demon Power. It will be able to lessen your suffering. But if you really can’t endure the pain, we need to leave now. If your heart collapses, I’m afraid that your training journey will have reached its end.”
His heart didn’t hear Hong Lin’s words. All he knew was that his suffering had decreased. But the Heart Devouring Bug attacked him again.
But that moment of relief allowed him to maintain a tinge of sanity. He entered the Heaven-Human Unity state. He disregarded how the Heart Devouring Bugs were tearing away at his flesh. Instead, he was discovering the true Heavenly Dao, not just the one within the Six Dao Cycle.
That type of Heavenly Dao was a Dao within the Heavenly Rules – humans weren’t allowed to disobey the heavens, nor were they allowed to go against rules set by the heavens.
The Six Dao Cycle’s Heavenly Dao was merely a power source to communicate with the Heavenly Dao Deities.
Had it not been for the purple spirit fluid, it would have been almost impossible for Ye Mo to enter the Heaven-Human Unity state. With so much pain that he was on the verge of collapsing, he would have been unable to enter that state.
After a day of the Heart Devouring Bugs eating away at him, Ye Mo’s heart had grown numb to the pain, no longer feeling any suffering. The Heart Devouring Bug didn’t care.
The golden outer surface of his heart began to drop, and, like an insect shedding its skin, a new golden body formed.
The Heart Devouring Bug became enraged again and began eating away at the new golden body. The heart started collapsing again. All of the purple spirit liquid’s medicinal effect had been applied to the outer layer of the golden body that had already been shed.
Without the support of the purple spirit fluid, the heart began to collapse again.
Ye Mo clenched his teeth. He knew that for his heart to be completely cultivated, it didn’t matter how he could lessen his suffering. The key was up to himself.
Every time he shed a layer of skin, he would have to endure another new round of pain and suffering.
Hong Ling watched Ye Mo with concern. Back when the Sky Blood Lady went through this process, her training was already in the Profound World Realm, while Ye Mo was only in the Second Tier of the Transcendence Realm.
“The Sky Blood Lady, with strength in the Profound World Realm, was able to endure 49 days of shedding and suffering – once a day before she couldn’t take it anymore. I don’t know how many times you can last.”
With every shedding process, the Heart Devouring Bug would re-climb the heart, and a pained scream would ensue. Even elite fighters like Ye Mo had to yell out that pain. Had he not, he might have just collapsed immediately.
Over time, Ye Mo shed once a day till he reached twenty times. Ye Mo’s pained scream could no longer be heard – even when a new layer of golden body was formed and the Heart Devouring Bug began tearing away at him, Ye Mo could endure the pain.
This was improvement. Ye Mo’s heart, after experiencing cycle after cycle of shedding, had already received a huge increase in strength.
On the outside, Ye Mo’s initial pained expression became much calmer as well.
Hong Ling knew that Ye Mo had endured past the most difficult part – even shedding was no longer an issue for him.
Furthermore, Ye Mo’s shedding was even more frightening than the Sky Blood Lady – she experienced it 49 times, while Ye Mo only experienced it 25 times, and the Heart Devouring Bugs no longer affected him. That meant that Ye Mo’s heart’s strength had already reached its limit, and the Heart DEvouring Bugs could help him no longer.
Buzz!
The heart shook slightly, shaking off the Heart Devouring Bugs. Strips of demon markings appeared on the heart’s golden body, as if it was stained by the Sky Demon Aura. The body of the heart became more and more tangible as well.
A wave of relief washed over Ye Mo as his heart completely shed. Even the unleashing of the Heaven-Human Unity state became much easier.
“My Heart Deity has finally made a breakthrough to reach the Second Tier. I wonder how many levels my light blade is now.”
Ye Mo’s eyes opened suddenly in a state of excitement.
The breakthrough in his Heart Deity not only increased his spear light blade’s attack, but also expanded the Zhu Deity Magical Formation’s reach. His senses were also improved. Now, he was able to sense the whole of the Door of Desolation when he exhibited his Heart Deity.
But some fighters could generate this strong aura of atmosphere themselves. Those with stronger Heart Deities than Ye Mo were capable of wiping him out before he could even sense them.
“Second Tier of Heart Training. Not bad,” Hong Ling said, smiling.
“Not bad indeed. I want to test out how many levels of light blade I can generate.”
That was what concerned Ye Mo the most. With ten levels equal to one tier, now that Ye Mo had made the breakthrough to the Second Tier of the Heart Training, it meant that he could stack around ten to twenty spear light blades. That concerned his true strength.
“Why not give it a try?” Hong Ling said as Ye Mo grabbed hold of his Sky Blood Spear and flew out, viciously piercing the sky.
Whoosh!
In the dark night, a light blade flashed – 15 levels of light blades stacked together, forming a ray of blood-colored light blade that swept across the starry night sky like a shooting star flying across the night.
“15 levels!”
Ye Mo knew that 15 levels weren’t too impressive, and his improvement in strength wasn’t that significant, either. After all, at a level such as the Transcendence Realm, every increase in tier represented a jump in quality boost, and every increase in level was enough to crush others to death.
But, with his Heart Training in the Second Tier, it allowed him to easily defeat fighters in the Eighth Tier. It would really be possible to kill off a normal Eighth Tier of Transcendence Realm fighters with a single spear strike.
