Chapter 6: Taking the Blame for You

Noticing Zhumo who was pinned to the ground by several maids, Dong Ling pulled a long face.

“What do you think you are? Instead of knocking at the door, you rushed in and hurt my maid. Dong Feixue, do you really think I don’t dare to fight you?” fulminated Dong Ling. Dong Feixue pushed her into the pond last time and she hadn’t revenged herself yet!

Seeing their master held down by Dong Ling, the maids lost confidence and relaxed their grip on Zhumo with fear. Zhumo quickly threw off their restraint and ran behind Dong Ling.

“Miss Ling, I tried to stop them, but…” she urged.

“You bitch! You survived last time and now you’re showing off!” Dong Feixue gnashed her teeth in anger.

She used to swagger over Dong Ling. When was she ever humiliated like this?

“Get gabbing or get going! I don’t want to waste any time on you.” said Dong Ling. She watched, but Dong Feixue didn’t reply, except repeating a few cursing words. She also failed fight back or what. Dong Ling frowned and then slammed the door.

“She’s even so uncreative in cursing! How boring!” thought she.

“You…” Dong Feixue stepped forward, but the door was nearly slammed into her face.

“Dong Ling! Come out! I haven’t settled with you after you killed Anxiang! I’ll skin you!”

The maid, whose forehead was just hit, whispered to Dong Feixue with a fierce look. Dong Feixue ordered, “Somebody! Come and burn the room! Dong Ling, I’ll see if you’ll come out!”

A maid lit a torch and approached Dong Ling’s bedroom. Suddenly, the door was opened. A basin of bath water was poured out. It not only doused the torch, but also wetted the maid all over.

Dong Ling stared at the maid. She didn’t have much memory about her.

“You don’t know me, do you?” said the maid, “I’m telling you. I’m Anxiang’s little sister. You killed her! I’ll revenge her today!”

She suddenly pulled out a dagger and stabbed at Dong Ling before anyone noticed.

“Go to hell!” cursed her.

Dong Ling stood at the door, looking cold and serious.

She realized that Dong Feixue was determined to kill her. That was why she brought Anxiang’s sister here and used her.

Silver light of the dagger flashed and then it ended up in Dong Ling’s hand. She stabbed back, directly into the maid’s chest. Blood gushed.

In the memory of “Dong Ling”, Dong Ling got to know that maids in this family never respected her. Since they tried to kill her again and again, they should have known what they could get.

From now on, she would no longer be a pushover.

With a bang, the maid fell on the ground, twitched and died.

This truly scared other maids. They looked horrified. And after thinking of how they had bullied Dong Ling, they couldn’t help begging for mercy.

“Miss Ling, spare me…”

“Miss Ling, I won’t ever do that again…”

They kept begging Dong Ling.

Even Dong Feixue looked pale with fear, too. She bit her lower lip so that she wouldn’t cry out for fear. Suddenly, she looked up and asked harshly, “Dong Ling, you… you monster! You must be possessed by the water goblin in the pond! You’re a monster!”

Watching Dong Feixue yell hysterically, Dong Ling sneered. “Well, even if I’m a monster, so what? A quiet conscience sleeps in thunder, doesn’t it?” she added, “Dong Feixue, you flogged the two servants to death, didn’t you? Father blamed me for being cruel. But the truth is, I’ve been taking the blame for you!”
