Since the war between ordinary humans and Mutants ended, the world seemed to have finally found a long-awaited peace.
In the ever-growing and bustling New York City, on the busy streets teeming with cars and people, a tall and handsome young man and a skinny old man moved through the crowd. No matter how crowded it became, it seemed as if an invisible force field surrounded them, gently parting the throng to make way.
The pedestrians didn’t notice this. Even if some did, it was only a fleeting moment of confusion, and the mysterious young man and old man would vanish into the crowd in the blink of an eye.
This was the work of the loyal servant, Apocalypse.
Caesar, the Superman, was indeed powerful, but in reality, aside from his flight and X-ray vision, he didn’t possess many extraordinary mutant abilities. His strength stemmed from the limitless potential of his physical body.
Just as ordinary humans have an inherent genetic limit, Caesar lacked such a constraint. As long as he lived, he could continuously absorb energy and enhance his physical strength.
Compared to his original Kyle’s Extracting Card System, this clone was much simpler and more direct!
“These mortals are unworthy of even brushing against the Master!” Apocalypse narrowed his eyes, and under his powerful telekinetic abilities, the approaching crowd automatically parted to make way. After they passed, the crowd returned to normal, and even some Mutants among them didn’t notice they had briefly been under his control.
The security cameras on nearby buildings also temporarily malfunctioned due to magnetic interference.
Apocalypse’s temper had certainly mellowed compared to before, but he still looked down on ordinary humans and Mutants, only admiring and respecting Caesar!
Thus, as Caesar and Apocalypse passed by, a strange scene unfolded on the bustling New York streets: the dense crowd automatically cleared a path, yet no one seemed to notice Caesar and Apocalypse walking right through the center of it.
Even if some saw them, they would forget in the next moment, as if they had witnessed a divine presence.
Accompanied by Apocalypse, Caesar wandered through the lively streets, observing the changes that had occurred over the past several years. Everywhere he looked, there were signs or areas designated for Mutants, a clear indication that Mutants had truly integrated into society.
Leaving the bustling streets, they arrived at a quieter alleyway.
“I didn’t expect this bar to still be here,” Caesar’s eyes lit up as he looked at the corner of the alley, where a vintage wooden door stood. Years ago, he had been known as the “Nightclub Prince,” with his presence a fixture in bars and nightclubs across the globe.
However, many bars have closed or relocated over the years.
“Let’s go in for a drink,” Caesar smacked his lips and took a few steps before turning back to Apocalypse. “Don’t use your abilities freely inside, it’s not good to frighten people. Also, address me differently.”
“Yes, Master,” Apocalypse subconsciously responded, but after seeing Caesar’s glare, he quickly corrected himself. “My Lord.”
“That’s more like it,” Caesar nodded in satisfaction.
“After you, My Lord.”
Apocalypse pushed open the wooden door, and Caesar entered the bar first. The interior was dimly lit, with more space than before, the walls and floors having been renovated, yet it still retained its nostalgic atmosphere.
To Caesar’s surprise, there were quite a few customers inside, almost filling up the seats, and most of them were male. As soon as they saw Caesar entering, they muttered under their breath, “Damn, another pretty boy, he looks way better off than me.”
“The competition is fierce. No wonder this bar is called ‘Beauty Bar.'”
They deliberately lowered their voices, but with Caesar’s Superman hearing, he could hear them even if they were across the street.
“Huh?” Apocalypse entered behind Caesar. Unlike the gentle Caesar, his authoritative gaze swept over the customers, and they immediately fell silent!
It was as if mice had encountered a Lion!
Caesar casually walked through the bar, heading towards the counter, while Apocalypse didn’t sit but stood beside him, bowing slightly.
“Welcome, sir,” A sweet voice sounded as a small figure emerged from the kitchen.
When Caesar saw the bartender, he suddenly understood why the bar was so full of male customers.
The bartender was a young girl, no more than sixteen, likely still in school. Her features were delicate and adorable, her large eyes and fair skin striking. She wore a waist-tight uniform with a small hood covering her golden hair.
No wonder it was called “Beauty Bar.”
Though young, this girl already possessed the makings of a beauty.
“You… What would you like to drink?” The cute bartender raised her eyes, and upon seeing Caesar, she froze for a moment. As she continued to meet his gaze, her cheeks flushed bright red.
One must say that compared to over a decade ago, Caesar had fully matured into his adulthood. He had shed the immaturity of his youth. He was already tall and handsome, but now, he exuded a flawless aura, radiating an almost divine presence. He had become the epitome of a womanizer.
Seeing the shy and cute look on the bartender girl’s face for the first time, the male patrons in the bar stared wide-eyed, while inwardly, they let out a sigh of reluctant frustration.
Why was there such a stark difference between people?
“Two glasses of Gule, please,” Caesar smiled and said.
“Gule?” The bartender girl tilted her head, her eyes full of confusion. She had never heard of this drink.
“Please wait a moment.” She blushed and hurried to the kitchen.
Caesar wasn’t in a hurry. He listened to the conversations of people within a kilometer around him. It wasn’t gossip; it was a small habit caused by his Superman hearing, allowing him to overhear local conversations, gather enough information, and quickly reconnect with a society that had moved on without him for over a decade.
“Dad, wake up!” The bartender girl rushed to the second floor, pulling the middle-aged man still lying on the couch. “There’s a customer downstairs who wants to drink Gule. Do we have that drink here?”
“Gule?” John immediately woke up and looked at his daughter in surprise. “He really ordered Gule.”
“Is it really on our menu? I’ve never heard of it,” The bartender girl frowned.
“It is, but that was ten years ago. I created it myself. Later, after multiple menu updates and more bartenders, it was removed.” John laughed and stood up. “It must be some old friends from back then. I’ll go down now.”
“Ten years ago? Old friends?” The bartender girl thought of Caesar’s face and quickly blushed, dismissing the thought. No way, Caesar couldn’t be older than about twenty.
It must be the old man beside him.
The bartender girl thought for a moment, then quickly followed John downstairs.
“I’m curious to see who wants to drink Gule…” When John arrived at the bar and saw Caesar sitting there smiling at him, a look of shock appeared on his face. His lips trembled with excitement. “You… you are!”
Caesar put a finger to his lips in a silent gesture.
Old John immediately understood, nodding and laughing loudly, his eyes brimming with tears.
How could he ever forget? Caesar had been a regular here long ago, back when the bar had just opened. Over the years, the place had been frequented by many tough people, but it was the young Caesar, still a child at the time, who had solved all their problems.
Not to mention, Caesar had later become a legend in the world.
The last time John saw Caesar was over ten years ago. At that time, Caesar was already quite tall, but now, he had only become more mature, so John immediately recognized him.
“It’s been a long time, John.” Caesar smiled. “I’m back.”
