Inside the Mirror Dimension, the atmosphere was tense.
In a space replicating the streets and areas of New York, following a heavy barrage, most of the superheroes—Iron Man, Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, Wong, and others— lay scattered and motionless around what had once been a vibrant battlefield, now turned into a grassy wasteland.
Now, the only one who could protect the Time Stone was Doctor Strange himself.
Doctor Strange seemed to understand this well. He immediately summoned his clones, and dozens of long magical whips extended from them, weaving into a golden net that tightly bound Thanos, who was wearing the Infinite Gauntlet.
“Sorcerer, it’s useless,” Thanos said softly, shaking his head. As he tightened his grip on the Infinite Gauntlet, a burst of flames erupted from his fist and surged toward the Doctor Strange clones hovering in the air.
All the whips and illusions were instantly consumed by the fire, and Doctor Strange was sent flying backward, trying to create some distance.
“Where do you think you’re going? Come to me!” Thanos smirked coldly, sweeping his left hand backward, and the space around them was immediately pulled forward. Doctor Strange was dragged closer to him.
Doctor Strange’s expression shifted slightly as he quickly erected a magical shield in front of him. Thanos clenched his left fist, and with the power of the Infinite Gauntlet, a single punch shattered the shield into pieces.
They were not even on the same level.
As a Titan, the last of his kind, Thanos’s physical strength was unrivaled in the universe. With the addition of the Infinite Gauntlet and three Infinity Stones, his power far surpassed that of any sorcerer— especially one like Doctor Strange, who relied on magical rules.
The Infinite Gauntlet pierced through Doctor Strange’s chest without resistance, passing cleanly through his body. Thanos raised an eyebrow, watching as Doctor Strange’s form shifted between solid and ethereal.
It was just a magical clone.
Thanos quickly looked up and saw Doctor Strange’s true form above, drawing circles to open a portal, preparing to escape to the real world.
“Enough!” Thanos impatiently lifted his foot and stomped down on Iron Man’s chest, pushing him into the grass. The armor, already nearing its limit, cracked under the pressure.
The portal to the outside world was now open, and Doctor Strange’s magic cloak stirred in the wind. But just as Doctor Strange was about to escape, his body froze in midair.
“You can escape, but I will kill everyone here,” Thanos said coldly, his ugly, purple face expressionless as he applied more pressure on Iron Man, causing him to scream. He then scanned the remaining superheroes around them.
It was the same trick, but it always worked!
“Thanos, if you do this, you will regret it!” Doctor Strange turned around and glared at the invincible yet despicable Thanos.
“I fear nothing. If I have to sacrifice myself to achieve my goals, then so be it,” Thanos responded in a deep voice, staring intently at Doctor Strange. “So, will you take the Time Stone and flee, or will you use it to trade the lives of everyone here?”
Doctor Strange remained silent. He glanced at the portal behind him and then at the remaining superheroes in the Mirror Dimension. Finally, he sighed heavily.
It seemed as if this moment had been destined.
No matter what, he could not keep the Time Stone, the one that the Ancient One had entrusted him to protect.
After about three seconds of silence, Doctor Strange spoke with difficulty, “I’ll give you the Stone.”
He formed a spell with his hands in front of his chest, and the pendant on his necklace clicked open. The glowing green Time Stone inside shot out.
“The fourth one,” Thanos’s eyes gleamed slightly. He ignored Iron Man lying on the ground and stepped forward toward the descending gem.
Just as Thanos was about to grab it, a white shadow suddenly surged from the portal Doctor Strange had opened, intercepting the Time Stone in midair!
“Who is that?!” Doctor Strange widened his eyes in shock.
“Raina?” Scarlet Witch, leaning against a utility pole, stared blankly at the familiar shadow.
The one who had intercepted the Time Stone was Raina’s soul!
Due to her immense psychic power, her soul was incredibly strong— so strong that it not only could not easily dissipate but could also freely alter the course of the real world!
After seizing the Time Stone, Raina’s soul darted toward the portal, but she was suddenly frozen midair, her movement halting abruptly.
Not far behind her soul, Thanos raised his left hand, the Infinite Gauntlet still in a loose grasp, with both the Soul and Mind Stones glowing simultaneously.
“If it were in the past, I might not have been able to do anything about you. But now, I hold these two Stones!”
As Thanos spoke, Raina’s soul struggled against the pull of his power, but it was futile. The energy emanating from the Soul and Mind Stones was overwhelming, and she was quickly drawn back toward him.
“It’s over, everything is lost,” Eddie, hidden in the shadows, sighed heavily. The weight of despair settled over the group. No one could stop Thanos from claiming the fourth Stone.
But just then, Thanos suddenly released his left hand, allowing Raina’s soul to break free from his grasp. The members of the Avengers were all stunned.
What was happening?
Even Raina’s soul couldn’t comprehend it. Just moments ago, she had been on the brink of being torn apart by the power of the Stones— there was no way she could have kept the Time Stone.
This was not Thanos letting her go.
He had sensed something. On Earth, a presence that could threaten him… had returned.
Thanos squinted his eyes, slowly turning around. Others followed his gaze, and there, in the distance, a deep gray mist of space appeared, spanning countless light years. A familiar and towering figure emerged from it, one that brought tears to their eyes.
“Boss.”
“Godfather?”
“Boss!”
“Master.”
“Mr. Kyle…”
The figure was like the very core of the Earth itself, but the moment he appeared, everyone who had been in despair showed signs of relief, their faces breaking into smiles.
The man had returned!
Yes, emerging from the mist was none other than Kyle!
They had managed to hold on until Kyle’s return before the Time Stone was taken!
And it wasn’t just Kyle. After he stepped out of the mist, Thor, Bruce Banner, Valkyrie, and Lorna followed him!
“Lorna?” Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver couldn’t help but call out.
“It’s me.” Lorna smiled, then coldly looked at Thanos. “Didn’t expect this, did you? You sent me to stop the Boss, but instead, I brought the Boss back early!”
“Alright, now that I’m back, everything’s fine!” Kyle spoke calmly, but there was an underlying fury in his voice. Upon returning, he immediately understood the situation!
He hadn’t expected this.
Thanos had acted so decisively, taking advantage of his absence to invade Earth. He had even collaborated with Loki and obtained the key Reality Stone.
But everything was still salvageable!
As long as they defeated Thanos right here, right now!
