Serve exchange. San Juan to serve.

Ramos powered up for a jump serve!

The ball dropped between Ushijima Wakatoshi and Kurek.

Smack!!

Ushijima Wakatoshi received the ball, a clean but slightly off-pass.

Christensen moved in to set, and León jumped for a spike down the centre!

“Double block!” Conte and Loser both leapt to meet him.

León’s arm tightened, and he hammered the ball down hard!

—BOOM!!!

A powerful overhead spike—perfectly executed!

SMACK!!!

The ball smashed into Bruno’s chest, bouncing high.

“Save it…cough cough…”

Bruno collapsed to the ground, unable to make a sound for a moment.

Taichi anticipated where the ball would land and rushed out immediately.

“Conte !”

Whoosh!—

The ball soared from behind the baseline to the net. Conte leapt on the left wing, spiking the ball!

“Triple block!” Christensen, León, and Jakub jumped together.

—BOOM!!!

The ball flew over Christensen’s block, smashing toward Lublin’s baseline.

Paweł dove to keep the ball alive!

“We won’t give you another chance!”

The ball rocketed toward the centre of the court. Ushijima Wakatoshi set up for a back-row pass, while Lublin’s blockers leapt into attack formation after landing!

Conte and Loser were defending two points, guarding three!

“Right wing!”

The moment Ushijima released the ball, Conte and Loser both read the pass and predicted a move to the right side.

Jakub jumped for a spike!

“Double block!”

Swoosh!—

BOOM!!!

The ball crashed into Loser’s back behind the three-meter line.

Tactical offence.

The spiker was Kurek—jumping from the back row! His attack was so fast that San Juan couldn’t set up a second block in time.

[San Juan 21 — 22 Lublin]

“Lublin holds on to the final point advantage of the attack!”

Serve exchange. Lublin to serve.

Jakub jumped and served powerfully!

BOOM!!!

The ball struck Taichi’s arm, but the reception was still in place.

Half-pass to position!

“Seems like some people still don’t get it.”

Taichi adjusted his body and sprinted forward toward the net. Conte, meanwhile, feigned a spike from the left wing to tie up Bieniek’s defence.

Whoosh!—

Oikawa jumped and sent the ball high toward the right wing—but Taichi leapt from the back row to spike it!

“Double block!” Christensen and León leapt in unison.

“It’s you…”

Taichi and León faced each other head-on!

—BOOOM!!!

The ball barely skimmed past León’s fingertips—a powerful overhead spike!

“But, the ball trajectory is well-controlled, and Lublin’s back row still has a defence!”

Jakub was right in the path of the ball.

SMACK!!!

The ball hit his arm and flew out of bounds.

“Go back and practice your reception, noob.”

Kaedehara Taichi scores!

[San Juan 22 – 22 Lublin]

“Lublin’s strategy of targeting Taichi with serves seems to be losing effectiveness.

With no libero on the court, Jakub couldn’t even manage to handle Taichi’s spike—even when positioned perfectly!”

Serve exchange. San Juan to serve. Kaedehara Taichi back in the front row.

Conte powered up for his jump serve!

BOOM!!!

The ball roared through the air, reaching Lublin’s back row in an instant.

Smack!!!

Even with a four-player receiving formation, Kurek barely managed to pass the ball.

It flew diagonally forward, falling near León.

“Nice! Now we’ve got him under control!”

However, León didn’t go for the pass. Instead, he backed off, running to the net.

“I’ve got it!”

Christensen moved from the left to position himself beneath the ball.

“Play your part—”

Whoosh!—

The ball soared to the right wing, and León jumped for the spike!

“Double block!” Loser and Taichi leapt to meet him.

At the net, León and Taichi—one-on-one!

—BOOOM!!!

The ball passed over Kaedehara Taichi’s block, striking Bruno’s arm and flying out of bounds.

Same tactic!

León scores!

[San Juan 22 – 23 Lublin]

“Lublin regains the serve!”

“Let’s finish this, León.” Coach Nikola signalled from the sideline.

Taichi’s powerful comeback had created a bit of tension, but the team controlling the match hadn’t changed.

Serve exchange. Lublin to serve. León steps up to the service line.

“At this time?!”

San Juan had just reached the most critical moment of this set!

“Taichi hasn’t moved to the back row?” Frey nervously looked at José. “Is this your call?”

José stared at the San Juan players. They had already used up their timeouts, and now they were in their usual four-man reception formation—facing the strong serve.

“Trust your teammates. Keep the offence going.”

That was the belief Taichi conveyed to his teammates as he stood in the front row.

“One ball to end this!!!” Conte shouted, and San Juan’s back row was ready for it!

“Tweet!—” The whistle blew.

León’s eyes briefly moved away from Taichi and slowly scanned San Juan’s back row. He slowly tossed the ball into the air, his steps quickening.

THUMP!

León soared into the air, his arm swung back in a half-circle before smashing the ball!

BOOOOOM!!!

The ball shot like a cannonball, cutting a straight white line through the air.

CRASHH!!!

The ball slammed between Santiago and Bruno—no touch.

León’s serve was directly scored!

[San Juan 22 – 24 Lublin]

“139km/h!!!”

“Lublin takes 24 points first—two match points in their hands!”

“José! Let Taichi handle the back-row reception!” Frey yelled. “If we can’t handle this serve, there’s no point in thinking about offence!”

“If we can’t deal with León’s serve, San Juan can’t win this match,” José finally spoke up. “For them, losing 2-3 or 0-3 doesn’t make a difference.”

Serve exchange. Lublin continues to serve. San Juan holds their position.

“I gotta admit, these guys are impressive,” Bieniek muttered quietly. “Are they really going to just give up now?”

“Tweet!—” The whistle blew.

León tossed the ball up for his second serve!

BOOOOM!!!

A similarly fast ball, flying toward San Juan’s left side!

Oikawa and Conte moved in sync.

“I’ve got it!” Conte shouted.

SMACK!!!

The ball hit Conte’s arm and flew out of bounds.

Oikawa didn’t stop his movements and ran toward the ball.

“Taichi!”

Taichi sprinted along the right sideline, building momentum. He leapt into the air.

“Triple block!” Ushijima Wakatoshi, Bieniek, and Christensen all jumped to block.

León stood directly behind Christensen, preparing for the set.

“If Taichi can receive this, León can do it too!” Coach Nikola had absolute confidence.

BOOM!!!—

The ball passed through the three-player block and smashed into Lublin’s left-side three-meter line.

A super sharp cross-court shot!

Kaedehara Taichi scores!

[San Juan 23 – 24 Lublin]

“What a beautiful spike!”

“We can still hold on—just one more point!”

Taichi’s powerful spike scored. The serve exchange occurred, and San Juan served again.

Oikawa steps up to the line.

“No problem, let’s finish it here!”

“Tweet!—” The whistle blew.

Oikawa took a deep breath, holding it in as he ran three steps before leaping high.

BOOM!!!

The ball, with a side spin, slammed toward Lublin’s right-side corner.

Smack!

León received the ball, and the pass flew toward the right sideline.

Christensen jumped up to set.

Loser and Taichi swapped positions and leapt to block the right wing.

Whoosh!—

Christensen hesitated for a second before choosing to set to the left side. The ball flew toward the far left—Ushijima Wakatoshi leapt for a spike!

“Double block!” Taichi blocked straight ahead, while Bruno provided support from the right.

—BOOM!!!

Ushijima smashed a diagonal shot— the ball flew over Bruno’s block and straight for San Juan’s right-side waistline.

SMACK!

Santiago received the ball!

It flew out of bounds.

Uh-oh! Loser couldn’t save it in time—

Smack!

A figure flashed by—Conte leapt and cushioned the ball back into San Juan’s court!

One final attack left!

Taichi locked his gaze on the ball. He ran toward the centre of the court, leapt into the air, and turned mid-air for his spike!

BOOM!!!

“Unbelievable!”

Beniek and Christensen jumped up to block the net in a hurry, but the volleyball passed over them.

“It’s going out!”

Bieniek snapped his head around. The ball traced a steep arc in the air, plummeting toward Lublin’s end line.

“That trajectory—that’s Hoshiumi’s spike!” Hirugami Fukurō’s eyes widened.

Hoshiumi Kōrai stared silently at Kaedehara Taichi. He had once assumed that someone with such spiking height wouldn’t bother with technicalities.

Smack!

But—Paweł twisted around and dug it one-handed!

The ball sailed just beyond the baseline, and León followed up as the second setter.

Whoosh!—

The ball soared to the middle of the court—Bieniek leapt for the spike!

“Double block!” Taichi and Loser rose in tandem.

“There’s a gap?”

Bieniek spotted an opening between their arms. Not quite enough for a clean pass-through, but ideal for a wipe—off the block and down.

“Avoid Taichi!” Christensen shouted.

“A decoy?” Bieniek narrowed his eyes. It’s practically screaming at me to hit here. Still…if I’m faster, I win.

BOOOM!!!—

He whipped his arm down with full force.

—SMACK!!!

The ball ricocheted off Taichi’s arm and shot straight back into Lublin’s court.

Christensen dove for coverage, but the ball slammed off his arm and dropped.

BANG!

Taichi with the block! Point for San Juan!

[San Juan 24 – 24 Lublin]

“Bieniek’s spike was stuffed!”

“Was he too hasty? Even with León’s perfect set, spiking from behind into the strongest blockers? That might’ve been reckless.”

“And now, we’re back to even.”

San Juan to serve.

“Haaah…”

Oikawa Tōru stepped back to the service line once more.

If they couldn’t close it now, they’d have to survive Christensen’s serve.

That thought alone was terrifying.

He held the ball against his forehead, breathing in.

All-in, this time.

“Tweet!—” The whistle blew.

Oikawa tossed the ball high and served—

BOOOM!!!

Smack!!

The ball slammed into Lublin’s back-left corner. It struck Kurek’s arm and veered wildly out of bounds.

Paweł scrambled after it—but couldn’t reach in time.

Oikawa scored directly off the serve!

[San Juan 25 – 24 Lublin]

“What a serve!”

“Oikawa! Oikawa!”

“Don’t get cocky now, one more to go.”

Just as he allowed a grin to break across his face, Taichi’s calm voice snapped him out of it.

“Tch. As if I’d be proud over just one ace.” Oikawa muttered.

Seriously.

San Juan to serve again.

Oikawa fired off the third ball—

BOOM!!!

Straight toward Kurek’s corner again.

Ushijima Wakatoshi darted across and made a low, deep pass—

SMACK!

High toss. A partial reception.

“Nice cover!” Christensen adjusted mid-air and set the ball.

Bieniek up front, León coming in from the back—dual attackers launched.

“Loser! Right side!”

“Got it!”

At the instant the ball left Christensen’s hands, Loser shifted right to reinforce Taichi.

León spiked from the back row!

“Double block!”

The lane was sealed.

He can’t power over it either.

He saw the opening between them.

Wipe-out? Line shot? Raw power?

Three options. All risky.

He chose the same one Bieniek had: a power spike.

BOOOM!!!—

But this one was even faster. In a blink, the ball reached the block.

—SMACK!!!

Taichi shifted his arm at the last second and blocked!

“So fast?!” León’s pupils contracted. No…he read me?

The ball deflected hard—straight back into Lublin’s court.

SMACK!

Paweł dove and saved it.

“The Guardian Angel!”

With one save, he dragged the team from hell back to hope.

Christensen leapt—

Ushijima and Bieniek both attacked from the left.

Loser and Taichi touched down and quickly shifted left.

—BOOM!!!

The ball dropped on San Juan’s right sideline.

Santiago lunged, but couldn’t reach.

A line shot. Pinpoint.

Christensen scored with a setter dump.

[San Juan 25 – 25 Lublin]

“Wha—?!”

Even the announcers were stunned speechless.

The ball had landed a meter from the net.

And their setter had jumped and spiked it?

Serve switched—Lublin to serve.

Christensen stepped up to the line.

“Never seen a setter like him before. Massive height, elite passing—and now this attack awareness?”

“With a monster like that, Lublin holds the advantage again.”

Jose, watching quietly from the bench, finally frowned.

“Damn…” he murmured. Their libero and setter…they really are beyond expectations.

Christensen launched his jump serve—

BOOM!!!

“You shouldn’t have done that.” Conte passed the ball cleanly!

“Perfect pass!”

Oikawa jumped, setting up Taichi at the net.

“Damn it—too fast!”

The tempo caught Lublin completely off guard.

Ushijima and Bieniek jumped in front of Taichi instinctively.

Whoosh!—

The ball arrived right on cue—dead centre in front of Taichi.

BOOM!!!

SMACK!

The spike slammed into Bieniek’s arm and flew far out of bounds.

Off the block and out. Point for San Juan!

[San Juan 26 – 25 Lublin]

“Too fast!!”

“Within five seconds of the whistle, San Juan had already received, transitioned, and scored!”

“All that serve receive training for Ushijima’s cannon…and it ends up paying off here instead.” Iwaizumi chuckled.

His heart had been in his throat—but now it dropped peacefully back into his chest.

“Breaking Christensen’s serve in one go—this set is already in the bag for San Juan.”

Serve switched—San Juan to serve.

Loser went up for a powerful jump serve.

BOOM!!!

León received cleanly.

Christensen jumped in the back and set—Ramos jumped to block instinctively.

Whoosh!—

The ball arced left.

Kurek jumped for the spike.

Taichi followed—solo block.

“I’ll never lose in attack!”

Kurek tensed and swung—

—BOOM!!!

The ball shot over the block.

Oikawa had already moved, pulling Loser over with him.

Smack!!!

The ball popped up high.

“Nice dig.”

Taichi didn’t look back—he was already repositioning for the attack.

“Mine!” Conte received and set.

Bruno pulled wide on the right as a decoy—but Lublin didn’t even react.

Whoosh!—

The ball flew high to the left wing—Taichi soared.

“Triple block!” Kurek, Ushijima, Bieniek—all jumped.

—BOOM!!

Over the block!

Paweł took one step forward—

Too shallow. He’d misjudged.

The ball curved just over the block, gliding low—

And slammed down near the baseline.

THUD!!!

On the line!

Kaedehara Taichi scored!

[San Juan 27 – 25 Lublin]

“Beeeep——!”

Set Two: Over.

Winner: CA San Juan.
