Chapter 2114: A Familiar Curse

“There’s no way the leader’s bloodline is weakening! Someone get the Golden Phoenix Needle!” One of the elders shouted, his voice full of nervous skepticism.

Another person there rushed out of the room the next instant, and he returned a few minutes later with a golden needle in his grasp.

Then, using the Golden Phoenix Needle, often used by phoenixes to check the strength of their bloodline, carefully tested the leader’s bloodline through a drop of her blood.

Shortly after testing the leader’s bloodline, the Golden Phoenix Needle emitted a faint crimson glow before a number appeared on the top of the needle’s handle.

“85.2 percent?! Her bloodline quality has dropped by four whole percent!” the elder holding the needle exclaimed in a voice laced with terror.

“FOUR PERCENT?!”

The others cried out in shock, as if they had just seen a ghost. Even the Grand Elder and Feng Haoyu were visibly shaken. Though four percent might not sound like much, in truth, it was a devastating loss—one that could take generations to recover, even by a single percent.

In the world of phoenixes, only those with a bloodline quality of at least eighty percent were deemed royalty. The leader of the Rising Phoenix Clan possessed a peak bloodline quality nearing ninety percent, placing her among the purest and most exalted bloodlines in all the Nine Heavens.

However, with her bloodline diminished by four percent, her status and standing within the phoenix clan would plummet. Should it continue to fall any further, the Rising Phoenix Clan itself could face the unthinkable—having its title as one of the Royal Phoenix Clans revoked.

“Her bloodline dropped by four percent, and it’s only been three weeks since her return! If we wait another week, it could drop by another percent!”

“What should we do?! We cannot wait for the Celestial Doctor’s arrival!”

The entire room suddenly fell silent, and everyone in the room slowly turned their heads to look at Yuan.

After a moment of stillness, they all approached Yuan and fell to their knees.

“Senior Primordial Phoenix! We were wrong for doubting you! Please heal our leader!”

“Please, Senior Primordial Phoenix!”

They abandoned their pride and lowered their heads to beg Yuan.

Feng Haoyu then spoke in a grim voice, “Four percent… this would take at least four million years to recover. Young Master, is there anything you can do to help my mother?”

Yuan spoke firmly, “Calm yourselves. I already said I would examine her condition, but I cannot guarantee I’ll be able to help. As for her weakened bloodline… we can discuss that later.”

Hearing this, the elders quickly stepped aside, clearing a path to the bed where their leader lay in deep slumber.

Yuan stepped up to the bedside, his gaze falling upon the beautiful woman resting there. At first glance, she appeared to be sleeping peacefully, but every so often, her brows would knit together, as if she were trapped in the grip of a troubling nightmare.

Without a word, he placed a hand on her head and closed his eyes.

The room fell into a tense, uneasy silence. Everyone stood motionless, yet their bodies betrayed them with subtle tremors running through them as they waited in anxious anticipation for Yuan’s response.

A few moments later, Yuan lifted his hand from the leader’s forehead and turned to face the others before speaking, “She’s definitely been cursed, and I am quite familiar with this curse.”

His gaze drifted to Feng Yuxiang and continued, “Feng Feng, you were also afflicted with this curse before.”

“Y-You don’t mean…” Feng Yuxiang’s eyes widened at his words.

Yuan nodded, “It’s the same curse that restricted your bloodline.”

“W-What is going on?” Unable to contain their curiosity, one of the elders asked.

Feng Yuxiang then explained in a grim voice, “Shortly after I left the Rising Phoenix Clan to do my own thing, I encountered this bastard who placed a curse on me, which restricted my bloodline and powers, essentially turning me into a human. If it weren’t for the Young Master’s help, I would’ve probably lost all of my powers by now.”

“What?! Such a vicious curse exists?! Who the hell is this bastard, and why did he target our leader?!” The Grand Elder roared in anger.

Feng Yuxiang shook her head and sighed, “I don’t know.”

“We can deal with this bastard later. Right now…” Feng Haoyu looked at Yuan and asked, “Since you have already dealt with it once, you can remove the curse again, right?”

Yuan nodded, “Naturally.”

“Please, save my mother. I beg of you.” Feng Haoyu fell to his knees and begged.

The elders stared with bewilderment, as this marked Feng Haoyu’s first time begging someone on his knees.

“Get up. I have no reason not to help her.” Yuan said.

“Thank you! Truly!”

The next moment, Yuan retrieved the Sacred Chalice of Purification and began removing the leader’s curse.

“This will take some time,” Yuan warned them.

Yet, not a single soul in the room left.

A week passed quickly, but to the Rising Phoenix Clan, that week felt like an eternity. And although they wanted to urge Yuan to cure the leader faster, none of them dared to utter a word.

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door and spoke, “Elders, the Celestial Doctor has arrived.”

“I’ll go greet the Celestial Doctor.” The Grand Elder responded before anyone else could even say a word and left the room quickly after.

Upon arriving at the guest room, the Grand Elder greeted a short old woman in green robes.

“I am the Grand Elder of the Rising Phoenix Clan. Thank you for coming here on such short notice, Celestial Doctor.”

The Celestial Doctor, who was no taller than 4 feet, calmly spoke, “Well, your leader is a good friend of mine. How is her condition right now?”

“She’s still unconscious, but we have someone helping her right now.”

The Celestial Doctor frowned at this information and spoke, “You allowed someone to touch her before I could even arrive?”
