Ch.300 Awkward Meal (2)
Sheng Wenyang refused to look at him, stubborn. However, she still had teary eyes.
Mo Bei glanced at her slightly trembling shoulders, not bearing to say anything heavy anymore.
Mo Bei had been waiting for her to give up.
Up until the news of Chen Sinan getting married had spread. She still didn’t give up.
But when he saw Sheng Wenyang asking to meet Chen Sinan in front of the building, he didn’t know what it felt like to have a broken heart anymore.
Or maybe, his heart was just numb.
He didn’t feel as bad to hear her crying heartbreakingly.
He asked Xin Siyue who wasn’t that far from him, “You believe that Chen Sinan wouldn’t betray you to go back to his old love?”
Xin Siyue couldn’t help but laugh. Instead, she retorted, “Do you think that Sheng Wenyang will get back with him?”
Mo Bei didn’t answer.
Yet, Xin Siyue said with certainty, “You believe in that, but I believe in Chen Sinan’s personality. Mo Bei, I trust Chen Sinan because he can give me security. You don’t believe Sheng Wenyang because you two aren’t devoted to each other. Maybe when you meet your true love and someone that also loves you, you’ll be able to experience this feeling.”
Mo Bei had to admit that Xin Siyue was right.
He and Sheng Wenyang were never truly together.
Later on, he saw Chen Sinan and Xin Siyue leaving the restaurant lovey-dovey.
Mo Bei purposely reminded Sheng Wenyang, “Do you see that? They have a great relationship.”
Sheng Wenyang didn’t turn to look at him, but her gaze followed the car fading in the distance. She mocked at herself and asked, “Are you here to purposely watch me being a fool?”
“Is that what you think?” Mo Bei knitted his brows.
“Isn’t that so? Back then, I shamelessly claimed to be Chen Sinan’s girlfriend, but who knew that he didn’t place me in his heart at all. Look. I’ve been abroad all these years and Xin Siyue already replaced my position. I deserve all of this.”
Mo Bei listened to her words and also laughed mockingly. Why did he love her back then? Why did he think she was outstanding and charming? Look at right now. She was the only one that couldn’t see through the situation.
“Wenyang, let go. Chen Sinan loves Xin Siyue.”
“Enough!” Sheng Wenyang suddenly raised her voice, and criticized Mo Bei for not understanding her in a malicious tone. Even more, she emphasized each time how much she loved Chen Sinan!
Mo Bei looked at her, his eyes a bit teary.
In the end, Sheng Wenyang got in her car and escaped.
Mo Bei stood there for a while up until his phone rang did he snap out of his trance. He looked at the caller ID: underage girl.
Mo Bei reached over to rub his temple. He picked up to hear the clear and pleasant voice mixed with a happy tone, “Mo Bei, Mo Bei, I don’t understand this section in English. Can you help me translate it?”
She dragged her last words out, mixed with a soft tone.
Mo Bei snapped out of his trance and asked, “What is the content?”
The other party immediately smiled and then said fluently in English: “The furthest distance in the world is not between life and death, but rather you not knowing that I love you despite me standing in front of you.”
She just finished reading it when she hurriedly asked, “What does this mean? Mo Bei, quickly help me translate it.”
Mo Bei smiled and then said, “I’m very curious. A person that can read the sentence fluently doesn’t understand the meaning in Chinese? If you really don’t understand, I don’t mind contacting your parents and letting them hire an English tutor for you.”
The girl felt drained. She humphed and then complained in a low voice, “You don’t have to say it if you don’t wanna. Who cares?!” After that, before he could even respond, the girl left him with, “Mo Bei, I don’t want to see the annoying you anymore!”
Mo Bei looked at the hung up call, feeling extremely helpless. He thought that she was just saying it for the sake of saying it. She’d happily bounce around in front of his face within two days.
Therefore, why should he be worried or care?
What Mo Bei didn’t know was that after he drove the car and left the restaurant, a skinny figure walked out by the restaurant door.
Nian Weicheng clutched her phone tightly, her body sliding down the stone pillar. She bit her arm and refused to let herself cry out loud.
However, tears had already streamed down her face.
